Anna and the Underbelly - free live performance
Sunday, February 17th 5:00 PM
Anna and the Underbelly mixes small town melodies with words found on the sidewalks of the city. Each song is a gently written attempt to sort out the reasons behind the people and places that hold us.
Since getting started in the fall of 2011, Anna has played both solo shows and shows accompanied by a rotating band of wonderful musicians. Her music is lyric-driven, honest, and hopeful.
Anna recently released her debut album, Brimstone Lullaby, a warm and wandering mix of pedal steel, guitar, banjo, strings, percussion, and harmonies. The album is the result of a year spent watching cities and small towns, the way they move and breathe and exist. Recorded at Rob Stroup's 8-Ball Studio, Anna was joined by a handful of wonderful local musicians, including The Shook Twins (vocals), Jamie Stillway (guitar, banjo), Lucas Welliver (piano), Paul Brainard (pedal steel, dobro, trumpet) and Rob Stroup (percussion, keyboards, vocals).
