Community Day/Songwriters Circle with Music Millennium's own ROBIN WASHBURN, JOHN GAVIN and ROB SHAFFER
Monday, March 4th - 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
FREE LIVE PERFORMANCE 7:00 PM and FREE REFRESHMENTS THROUGHOUT THE DAY!
Record stores were the community centers for many cities and towns around the country, especially in the late ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s. They were a place where community in the love of music brought people together. Friendships were made and partners in life were found as people shared their interest and love of music. On Community Day, there will be free refreshments, special one-day deals, live music, and a variety of unique events throughout the year. Monday, March 4th will be the next Community Day and will include the Songwriters’ Circle at 7:00 PM.
To commemorate Music Millennium's anniversary month, we are featuring an "All-Millennium" lineup for the Songwriters' Circle in March. Music Millennium serves as the day job for many talented musicians, artists, and yes, even songwriters. We have decided to feature a handful of them on this special night. Host Jack McMahon welcomes fellow songwriters and Music Millennium employees for an hour of original music.
Robin Washburn, John Gavin and Rob Shaffer have each played and sung in numerous bands from as far away as Baltimore and St. Augustine, as near as Portland, and along the way have written some really cool songs in the process. Please stop by from Monday, March 4th and have a listen to some of our staff, whom you are probably more accustomed to seeing behind a cash register than behind a guitar or microphone.
